Course description
Following the growing interest in the theme of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Intellectual Property (IP), the third edition of “WIPO-MOIP Training Course on AI and IP” will be held from May 18 to 22, 2026. The course aims to familiarize participants with IP issues arising from AI, especially Generative AI, from an IP perspective and in examinations. Through sessions with experts, including academics, the private and public sectors, the course provides the space to deeply understand IP issues in the era of rapid development in AI.

This course is jointly organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the International Intellectual Property Training Institute (IIPTI), in partnership with the Ministry of Intellectual Property (MOIP).

Participants Eligibility

• Applicants must have advanced proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Priority in selection will be given to those who have experience and/or have a background in AI or IP.

How to register
Prospective applicants will be able to register via the online registration link by May 3, 2026.

• Recent issues of AI and IP, including copyright issues of AI-generated products and AI training data, various issues of patent, trademark, and design
  
• AI systems for IP business and IP administration
  
• Diverse perspectives on issues such as AI and jobs, AI regulation, and AI use in developing countries through group discussions

Duration
This online course will be held from May 18 to 22, 2026.

Learning Method and Tools
Training will be based on practical methods that enable participants to learn about AI and the IP issues related to AI.

Certificate

An electronic WIPO certificate will be awarded to participants who (i) achieve an attendance rate of at least 80% in the online live training course, (ii) obtain a score of at least 80% in the examination, and (iii) complete the post-training survey.
