The WIPO-MOIP Master Class on IP, Valuation, and Finance is a comprehensive and interactive online course designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand and leverage Intellectual Property (IP) as a valuable asset for financing, investment, and business growth. Over the course of four days, this master class will cover a wide range of topics related to IP, its valuation, and its role in the world of finance. With a strong emphasis on practical insights and real-world case studies, this program is ideal for professionals and decision-makers looking to enhance their understanding of IP-backed financing and its applications in the world of finance, and various IP backed/based financing models.

This course is jointly organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Ministry of Intellectual Property, Republic of Korea.

Participants Eligibility

• Applicants must have advanced proficiency in written and spoken English.
• This master class is designed for professionals, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers seeking to enhance their understanding of IP valuation, financing, and its practical applications across a spectrum of industries.

Invited Engagement of Participants by Phases of the Course

• Participants are required to complete in advance the Distance Learning course Primer on Intellectual Property (DL-001) and four learning videos concerning IP for start-ups and IP for scale-ups, offered by the WIPO Academy.
• Participants are expected to participate in the Q&A sessions with the speakers.
• Participants are required to fill out a survey after conclusion of the course and participate in a feedback discussion.

This live online course will be held from November 24 to 27, 2025.

Who Should Participate

Government officials from ministries/agencies related to economy, industry, and/or finance and professionals from financial institutions, or from equivalent government organizations.

There will be approximately 100 participants, and participants will be selected based on regional representation to include Africa, Asia, South America, the Middle East, and other regions.

Learning Method and Tools

The course will consist of live interactive online learning sessions. The course places a strong emphasis on real-world case studies, allowing participants to gain practical insights into the application of IP in finance. These cases illustrate best practices, success factors, and investment trends across various industries. Participants will have the opportunity to interact directly with speakers, asking questions and seeking clarification on the topics presented.

Certificate

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate from WIPO, recognizing their dedication to enhancing their knowledge and skills in IP, valuation, and finance, with an above 80% of attendance rate.
