The Summer School program provides an opportunity to senior (graduate) students, young professionals and government officials to acquire deeper knowledge of each domain of intellectual property (IP) and of the role and functions of WIPO.

As WIPO’s only U.S.-based Summer School, the WIPO-U.S. Summer School program focuses on U.S. IP law. The 2025 program will take place June 2-13, 2025, virtually only, and weekdays only, via Microsoft Teams Meetings and is hosted by IPPI: The IP Policy Institute with The University of Akron School of Law. IPPI is based in Washington, D.C., U.S.A.

The program consists of academic lectures, industry panels, fireside chats, simulation exercises, and group discussions on selected U.S. IP topics, with an orientation towards the interface between IP and other disciplines. A certificate of participation is awarded to participants who successfully complete the program requirements.
 
To receive the WIPO certificate of participation, participants will be expected to be present (present through a combination of video, audio, and group discussion) for at least 80% of the live sessions (there are about 38 live sessions between 75 minutes and 90 minutes) and take part in discussions and projects. Before applying, applicants should consider the required commitment to 6-8 hours of live sessions between approximately 9:00am-4:00pm Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) for two weeks. Applicants should convert time zones here to gauge availability before applying.
 
Eligibility

The Summer School is open to senior students (graduate and postgraduate students) and young professionals from any field of study or discipline. The program is designed for candidates who wish to obtain deeper knowledge of U.S. IP law. Applicants who are more senior in their field of IP law may find the WIPO-U.S. Summer School less challenging but are still welcome to apply.
 
There is a limited number of spots, and applicants are encouraged to apply sooner rather than later. Once the program has reached capacity with fully registered applicants (accepted by WIPO and IPPI, and paid with IPPI), registration will close.
 
If your country is under U.S. sanctions, we will need a license from the U.S. Department of Treasury to allow you to participate. After learning of your acceptance from WIPO, our team at IPPI/Akron Law will reach out to you with more information about the process. We recommend interested applicants applying from a country under U.S. sanctions (Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, or the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine) apply through WIPO as soon as possible to increase their chances of obtaining the required license in time for this or (more likely) a future year. Please note: Applying for this license will take time, and we cannot guarantee that students from countries under sanctions will be able to participate. We regret that this process neither guarantees an approved license nor timely consideration by the branch of the U.S. government in charge of reviewing these applications.

Registration fees are payable to IPPI, The University of Akron School of Law upon notification of acceptance from IPPI. They fall into the following categories:

U.S. Law students interested in taking the course for credit must still apply through WIPO’s website, but please also review IPPI’s website for more information and contact IPPI staff directly.
 
Important Dates & Cancellation Policy
 
Last day for interested applicants to submit registration to WIPO: Friday, May 9, 2025
Deadline for accepted applicants to submit payment to IPPI: Monday, May 19, 2025
(IPPI will not accept new registrants after May 19, 2025)
 
Cancellation: Accepted attendees may cancel on or before Monday, May 5, 2025, and receive a refund of the registration fee minus a cancellation fee of USD50. The registration fee will not be refunded for cancellations after May 5, 2025.
 
Regarding Financial Assistance

We regret to advise that neither WIPO nor IPPI can offer any financial assistance to those seeking to participate in the program. Similarly, we are unable to identify any third parties that may be able to offer such assistance.

Escuela de Verano de la Organización Mundial de la Propiedad Intelectual (OMPI), a celebrarse en Ciudad de México.

La Escuela de Verano de la OMPI en Propiedad Intelectual (PI) de México se llevará a cabo del 2 al 13 de junio de 2025, con la colaboración del Instituto Mexicano de la Propiedad Industrial (IMPI), el Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México y la Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro.

La modalidad del curso para este año será en formato híbrido.

El Programa del curso de verano llevará como tema central “La Inteligencia Artificial y la Propiedad Intelectual”.

Programa

La edición 2025 de nuestro programa en México, se realizará en idioma español, y el Curso consistirá en clases presenciales y/o virtuales, estudio de casos, y debates sobre el tema central y la interrelación de la propiedad intelectual con diferentes disciplinas profesionales.

Al término del programa se otorgará un certificado digital de participación, siempre que se cumplan con los lineamientos aprobatorios.

Condiciones para participar en el Curso

Este Curso de Verano está dirigido a estudiantes de grado académico de nivel superior (licenciatura o posgrado) o nuevos profesionales, en cualquier campo de estudio o disciplina.

Para un mayor provecho del curso es recomendable, aunque no obligatorio, contar con el Curso general de enseñanza a distancia de la OMPI sobre propiedad intelectual (DL101).

Los participantes correrán con los gastos personales en que puedan incurrir para su participación en el programa.

Inscripción por Internet

Cada candidato (a) deberá completar el formato de registro disponible y adjuntar en formato electrónico una identificación oficial vigente y un breve currículum vitae.

Los candidatos seleccionados serán notificados sobre su admisión, dentro de las dos semanas siguientes a la fecha de cierre de la convocatoria de inscripción en línea.

The program consists of lectures, case studies, simulation exercises and group discussions on selected IP topics.

Conditions for the grant of the certificate of participation

A certificate of participation is awarded to participants who successfully complete the program requirements. To receive a certificate of participation, participants will be expected to be present in all sessions and shall also actively take part in discussions and group projects. Before applying, applicants should consider the required commitment that is needed for their participation in the Summer School.

Eligibility

The Summer School is open to senior students and young professionals from any field of study or discipline. The Summer School is designed for candidates who wish to obtain deeper knowledge of IP.
 

Online Registration

Applications must be submitted online with résumés, letters of motivation, and copies of passports (or identity cards).

Registration Fees

Registration fees are payable to UNIGE upon notification of acceptance from UNIGE. They fall into the following categories:

1. students from developing countries and countries in transition: CHF 250;
2. young professionals from developing countries and countries in transition: CHF 350;
3. students from developed countries:  CHF 750; and
4. young professionals from developed countries: CHF 1000.

The payment of these registration fees within the given time frame granted by UNIGE confirms the formal registration of the participants to the Summer School.

Please note that the tariffs applied are based on your domicile and not your nationality.  Applicants are required to formally confirm that they have indicated their correct country of domicile in their application.

GSS Payment Regulation

Tuition fees are as advertised on the website and can only be paid through the online payment method, in Swiss Francs (CHF).

Tuition fees must be paid within the period determined by the GSS Office and no later than one month prior to the GSS start date. If payment is not made in due time, GSS Office reserves the right to cancel the admission and attribute the place to another applicant.
 
The amount of the tuition fees is mentioned on the website and in the admission email. A non-refundable administrative fee of CHF 100 is included in the tuition fees.
 
Cancellation by the Participant

If a participant cancels his/her enrolment, interrupts the GSS or ends it prematurely, the costs are as follows:
 
If the participant cancels more than four weeks before the start of the GSS, he/she will have to pay 50% of the full Course fee, beyond the CHF 100 administrative fee;
 
If the participant cancels within four weeks of the start of the GSS or during the GSS, tuition fees (including the administrative fee) will not be refunded.

Программа Летней школы предоставляет возможность экспертам в сфере интеллектуальной собственности и молодым специалистам из различных областей науки и образования, а также студентам старших курсов получить более глубокие знания в каждой области интеллектуальной собственности (ИС), а также изучить роль и функции Всемирной организации интеллектуальной собственности.

Обучение пройдет в гибридном формате в период с 16 по 27 июня 2025 года (16-20 июня онлайн, 23-27 июня очно в офисе Qazpatent).

Программа состоит из лекций, учебных кейсов, имитационных упражнений и групповых дискуссий по отдельным темам ИС.
После успешного окончания курса обучения всем слушателям, выполнившим требования программы обучения, выдается сертификат участника.

Условия выдачи сертификата участника

Сертификат ВОИС выдается участникам, успешно выполнившим требования программы.
Для получения данного сертификата участникам необходимо присутствовать на не менее чем 80% времени всех занятий, а также активно участвовать в дискуссиях и групповых проектах.

Прием заявок

Летняя школа открыта для экспертов в сфере интеллектуальной собственности и молодых специалистов из различных областей науки и образования, а также студентов старших курсов ВУЗов.

Всем заявителям рекомендуется пройти дистанционное обучение по Общему курсу ВОИС по интеллектуальной собственности до окончания срока регистрации. Обратите внимание, что при отборе участников приоритет будет отдаваться тем, кто прошел указанный курс.

Онлайн-регистрация

Кандидаты должны представить свое резюме вместе с мотивационным письмом и подтверждением гражданства (копия паспорта или удостоверения личности).

 

Регистрационные взносы

Регистрационные взносы  оплачиваются  РГП "Национальный институт интеллектуальной собственности" Министерства юстиции Республики Казахстан (далее - Qazpatent) после получения от Qazpatent уведомления о принятии заявки. 

Размер оплаты для следующих категорий лиц:

i. студенты из развивающихся стран и стран с переходной экономикой: 50 USD;

ii. молодые специалисты из развивающихся стран и стран с переходной экономикой: 100 USD;

iii. студенты из развитых стран: 100 USD; и

iv. молодые специалисты из развитых стран: 150 USD.

Прекращение участия в программе со стороны участника

Если участник отказывается от участия в программе, прерывает ее или заканчивает досрочно, расходы в этом случае будут следующими:

Если участник отказывается от участия в программе более чем за четыре недели до ее начала, он должен оплатить 50% от полной стоимости курса;

Если участник отказывается от участия в программе в течение четырех недель до ее начала или во время ее проведения, оплата за обучение не возвращается.

El curso de verano ofrece a jóvenes estudiantes en sus últimos años de estudios, así como a jóvenes profesionales la oportunidad de adquirir un conocimiento más profundo de los distintos ámbitos de la propiedad intelectual (P.I.) y del rol y las funciones de la OMPI.
 
El programa, cuyo detalle se expresa en el archivo adjunto, consiste en conferencias y mesas redondas sobre determinados temas de P.I.
 
Nuestro curso de verano está diseñado en enteramente formato virtual las dos semanas.
 
Este curso de verano de la OMPI de dos semanas de duración, lo organiza conjuntamente la Academia de la OMPI y la Oficina Española de Patentes y Marcas (OEPM), y ofrece a estudiantes en sus últimos años de estudios y jóvenes profesionales la oportunidad de profundizar sus conocimientos de propiedad industrial e intelectual, así como el papel que la OMPI desempeña en la administración mundial de la P.I.

In accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education of China, all on-site participants are also required to have valid medical insurance covering the full period of their stay in China.

The WIPO-China (ECUPL) Summer School on Intellectual Property ("Summer School") offers participants an opportunity to deepen their knowledge across various domains of intellectual property (IP) and gain insights into the role and functions of WIPO. The program is particularly beneficial for students, young professionals, and government officials interested in IP, especially in cutting-edge areas of the field.

• Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution in IP Disputes

In line with the theme of World IP Day 2025, this year’s program will also feature a special focus on IP protection in the music industry.
 
The curriculum comprises lectures, case studies, simulation exercises, and group discussions. Participants will engage in a moot court session presided over by senior judges from Chinese courts or a moot arbitration hearing conducted by an experienced arbitral tribunal. Onsite participants will have the additional opportunity to visit leading companies in the music and gaming industries, AI firms, judicial departments, and top law firms in Shanghai.

Format

The Summer School will be conducted in a hybrid format. Participants may choose to attend onsite at the ECUPL campus in Shanghai, China, or online via Zoom. However, onsite participation is highly recommended, as only onsite participants will be eligible for the two-day field visit in Shanghai.
 
Please note: Onsite participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements, accommodation, and living expenses. ECUPL can assist with logistical arrangements, such as providing information on nearby hotels (including budget-friendly options) and granting access to campus cafeterias at participants' own expense.

A certificate of participation is awarded to participants who successfully complete the program requirements. To be eligible, participants must attend at least 80% of sessions and actively engage in discussions and projects.

Please note that priority will be given to those who have completed the DL 101 course in the selection of participants.
 
 Format
 
The WIPO-China (NJUST) Summer School will be held both face-to-face in Nanjing and virtually by Zoom.
 
For participants who wish to do in-person classes, they will be responsible for their own travel to and from Nanjing, accommodation and living expenses during their participation of the program.
 
Insurance and Medical Examination
 
Participants in traditional classroom training are required to have medical insurance in China, covering the whole duration of study, according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education of China.
 
They will also be required to present a medical certificate upon arrival.
 
Online Registration

Applicants should submit their résumé together with a letter of motivation (setting out their reasons for applying and what they hope to gain from the Summer School) and proof of nationality (copy of passport or identity card).

Registration Fees

Registration fees are payable to NJUST, upon notification of acceptance from NJUST.  They fall into the following categories:

1. students from developing countries and countries in transition:  USD100;
2. young professionals from developing countries and countries in transition: USD200;
3. students from developed countries:  USD400; and
4. young professionals from developed countries: USD600.

In addition, candidates from developing countries and countries in transition with financial difficulties can apply for tuition waivers. The interested candidates should explain in your motivation letter. NJUST will notify selected candidates via email.

Cancellation by the Participant

You may cancel on or before June 25, 2025, and let NJUST know as soon as you make such a decision.
 
 

The WIPO-China Summer School on Intellectual Property (IP), jointly organized by World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Southwest University of Political Science and Law (SWUPL), will take place in Chongqing, China, from June 30 to July 11, 2025.

The Summer School program provides an opportunity to senior students and young professionals to acquire deeper knowledge of each domain of intellectual property (IP) and of the role and functions of WIPO.

The theme of the Summer Program is focused on High-quality Development and intellectual property rights protection, which will cover key fields of IP such as patent, copyright, trademark, anti-unfair competition and international IP enforcement etc. The program encompasses lectures, case studies, field trips, and group discussions on various IP topics. The program emphasizes the interaction between IP and other disciplines.
 
Eligibility

Upon successfully meeting the program requirements, participants will be awarded a certificate of participation.  This entails attending all sessions and actively participating in group projects and discussions, while keeping their cameras on throughout the Summer School.  Prior to applying, applicants should carefully consider the level of commitment necessary for their involvement in the program.

A certificate of participation is awarded to participants who successfully complete the program requirements. To receive a certificate of participation, participants will be expected to be present to a minimum of 8 out of 10 sessions and shall also actively take part in discussions and group projects.

Format of the Summer School

The Summer School will be exclusively conducted in a full face-to-face format, held entirely in classroom settings.

Participants are responsible for their own travel to and from Manila, Philippines, accommodation and living expenses during their participation in the program.

Eligibility

The Summer School is open to senior students (graduate and postgraduate students) and young professionals from any field of study or discipline. The program is designed for candidates who wish to obtain deeper knowledge of IP.

Online Registration

Only 80 participants will be accommodated in the training program, on a first come-first served basis.

The Summer School is open to senior students (graduate and postgraduate) and young professionals from any field of study or discipline. The program is designed for candidates who are already familiar with IP.

All applicants are required to have successfully completed the WIPO Distance Learning Course on Intellectual Property Management  (DL 450) before being selected for the program. Access to this online course will be made available upon registration to the Summer School.
 

Insurance and Medical Examination

Non-resident participants will be provided with insurance coverage for the duration of their stay in Durban in connection with the Summer School program.

Each participant will be required to present a medical certificate upon arrival.

Format
