The WIPO TISC Staff Certification program provides staff members of the global TISC network with the building blocks for technical / professional knowledge and skills development through phased training using a competency-based curriculum design. Enrollment into the program is by nomination of the national TISC focal point.

Successful completion of the Foundation Certificate Course gives recognition as a Certified TISC Staff.

A Certified TISC Staff is expected to possess certain technical knowledge and skills demonstrable through desirable behaviors and the able performance of certain tasks and activities necessary to deliver basic TISC services at Foundation level.

By this certificate, the Certified TISC Staff thus named may be expected, as he/she has been trained, to have gained core competencies in:

1. the fundamentals of Intellectual Property with a focus on patents;
2. basic patent search services;
3. the use of the WIPO PATENTSCOPE database; and
4. access and use of TISC resources.
