Everything You Need to Know

IP Youth Ambassadors Initiative

The IP Youth Ambassadors Initiative is an international recognition initiative that celebrates young, innovative, and creative minds for their substantial contributions to creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Launched in 2019 by the WIPO Academy, the Initiative highlights the achievements of promising young creators, inventors, innovators, and entrepreneurs who are actively shaping the future through their ideas. It also empowers them to promote IP knowledge among youth worldwide by leveraging intellectual property to support their creative and innovative pursuits.

To ignite creativity, curiosity, and ingenuity, we equip young changemakers with IP knowledge and resources, enabling them to create a lasting impact in their communities and industries.

  • Promote IP awareness and education among young people in collaboration with national and regional actors.
  • Encourage young talents to continue their creative and innovative endeavors.
  • Engage youth in creative and inventive processes, demonstrating how IP can support and scale their impact.
  • Recognize young creators, inventors, innovators, and entrepreneurs who develop impactful solutions to real-world challenges.
  • Empower young creators by providing them with the knowledge and tools to protect and commercialize their innovations through IP.
  • Develop a global community of young IP leaders and advocates, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

IP Youth Ambassadors receive a WIPO Certificate of Recognition and gain access to a variety of exclusive opportunities, including:

  • IP training at foundational, advanced, and specialized levels, tailored to their creative and entrepreneurial needs.
  • IP Leadership, public speaking, and IP advocacy workshops to enhance their ability to promote IP awareness and innovation.
  • Personalized coaching, mentoring, and skill-building activities to support their growth as innovators and changemakers.
  • Opportunities to participate in national, regional, and international IP awareness-raising events, engaging with educational policymakers, industry leaders, and fellow youth ambassadors.
