Journey of the IP Educator

The contribution of youth to national economies is reflected in their capacity to create, invent, and negotiate their position as competitive entrepreneurs and beneficiaries of IP systems.

Teachers and educators encourage IP education, knowledge and exposure from early years so pupils and students can grow with the awareness of basic IP concepts and subsequently act on the opportunity to test their capacity to create and invent. Nevertheless, the implications of a declining youth demographic in developed countries and in contrast a growing youth population in developing ones has influenced a shift in conventional approaches to education calling for accelerated youth upskilling action.

The WIPO Academy’s IP4Teachers and Educators program responds to this call by offering teacher capacity-building, training and educational resource development support in addition to networking and teacher award opportunities.
