The Intellectual Property Impact Certificate Course (IPCC) is a capacity building and training program aimed at educators and policy makers. It was inaugurated with a first session in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in 2017, followed by a session in Lusaka, Zambia a year later, and by Lima, Peru in 2019. In 2020 and 2021, the seminars were held online in view of the global health context.
The course is dedicated to the development of IP curricula and strategic plans to address policy challenges.
The IPCC uses a blended-learning approach, is interactive, and contains a deliberate workshop methodology to foster active learning and peer-to-peer engagement. It focuses on developing comprehensive and pedagogical educator skills that are key for teaching IP to youth.
Participants are selected either from among high achievers of the IP introductory courses offered by WIPO or are nominated by national ministries of education.
